The Occidental Hotel on Vulcan Lane, Auckland was built in 1870 by American sailor Mr. Edward Perkins. It was famous and known as one of the finest hotels in Auckland in those old days
In 1999 it was transformed into The Occidental Belgian Beer Cafe which is the first authentic Belgian Beer Cafe in Southern Hemisphere. We proudly serve an extensive selection of the finest Belgian beer and some of the best wines from New Zealand and Australia, complimented by authentic Belgian cuisine.

We are open from 7:30AM till late Mon – Fri (Breakfast till 11:30AM) & 9AM till late weekends (Breakfast till 3:00PM). This Easter weekend we will be open from 9:30 on Friday and Monday, 9:00 on Saturday and Sunday and specialise in hosting fabulous functions.
